Reviews
Banh Beo and Banh Xeo are fireeeee. Food comes out super fast and prices are all pretty reasonable. I could eat 2 orders of Banh Beo (5 each) all by myself. It does get crowded quickly and the place closes early (8:30pm), so recommended to beat the crowd and the rush by an earlier meal here. My friends got the #1 spicy soup and said the noodles were great (and not too spicy, if you're worried about that). Definitely a go-to location for dinner in SJ!
Sunday at 11:45am and it was packed!! Luckily a few groups of people left when we arrived. Got seated within 5 mins. But once we left there was a mob of 20-25 people waiting. The BBH is so yummy! They give plenty of meat. It's my go to place for BBH. I remember coming here when they first opened and it was only half the store. I'm definitely a loyal customer to this place. Their severs were quick and available. Water refills and Togo boxes were grabbed immediately for us!
I love it here. I love their Banh Beo (Steam rice cake) and I usually order 2 orders for myself, the Cha Hue (Steam Sausage), Banh Ram It (Shrimp filled chewy mochi on top of crispy fried dough), and if I'm going with my husband he'll get the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup). I think their BBH here is average at best, but I'm strictly here for the appetizers. HOT TIP: I always order an extra bowl of chicharrones cause I'm a fatty and then as for sate (fried chili in oil) and dunk it in the fish sauce. I let the fried pork skin soak in the sate fish sauce a bit and voila, deliciousness and artery clogging goodness awaits. I always leave a happy kid.
2nd time here. Food has improved a lot. Very delicious bánh bèo. They came out hot, soft, good fish sauce. The best I've had so far. Bánh ram ít: not as good as I expected. I will skip this next time. Bánh bèo chay same texture as the non-veg version but with tofu. The real version was better. Bún bò Huế chay: great broth, not salty. The noodle was overcooked so I only ate the vegan mock meat and drank the broth. Chạo tôm aka shrimp on sugar cane: good flavor. I wished they grilled it but it was still good being fried.
LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazing! I went with friends (5-6) and we ordered the beef rice plate, spring rolls, bun bo hue, and a few orders of the Banh Beo. 5/5 - The Banh Beo is a must try! One order comes with 5. The spicy fish sauce with the banh beo is SO good. 4/5 - Beef rice plate. The beef was a bit salty but everything else was delicious and had a strong umami flavor. 5/5 - The Bun Bo Hue is a MUST TRY. One of the best in the Bay. 5/5 - Spring rolls. Great appetizer and the peanut sauce was amazing!
